Why buy our Cartridges?

At Ink Hub our philosophy has always been to provide the very best quality printer ink at competitive prices combined with outstanding customer service. Since 2007 we have provided thousands of Australian businesses, corporations, schools and homes with both genuine and generic ink and toner cartridges. A large percentage of our customers have stayed with us for many years which we believe reflects our consistency in providing great customer service combined with very fast delivery times and we don't hide when a problem occurs.

Purchasing consumables online can often be daunting and not everyone is computer savvy that's why at Ink Hub we are more than happy for customers to call and order via the phone. We have a large number of customers in their 70's and 80's and many prefer to phone their orders in and often have a bit of a chat at the same time. Many customers call me (Dean) personally when buying new printers to find out if compatible cartridges are available for the model printer they are looking at. We strongly recommend this as being in this industry for many years we can give solid advice and hopefully guide you to a printer which is both cheap to use and reliable.

You may have noticed that we don't sell generic cartridges for every printer available. There is a reason for this and its quite simple. Not all printers are the same, some use cartridges with the print head built into the cartridge itself, some use very complex microchips, some have very special needs in regards to ink viscosity and others are just really hard to replicate. Many of the online retailers simply sell every cartridge available to them and their products are all drop shipped from several of the large wholesalers scattered all over Australia. This is where Ink Hub is different. We import our own products and we only sell the ones which we know are super reliable.

By doing this we are able to provide a range of extremely reliable generic inks at competitive prices. As new products become available we send them out for testing and if they prove even slightly problematic then we immediately take them off the market. This is why we can boast about the reliability of our non genuine inks and although we don't have the largest range we do have the most reliable!

In the early days so many people (including myself) have been burnt by using low grade, poor quality generic inks or toner. They have either leaked, blocked the print head, not worked or even worse damaged the printer. Today there is still a huge amount of low grade compatible (generic) inks being sold on the internet by even some of the largest most well known retailers. Before you purchase your next set of inks do your homework by reading comments on trusted review sites and make sure that the online store has both a phone number and a physical address (not just a PO Box).

Genuine vs Compatible Cartridges

One of the most often asked questions is "What is the difference between the more expensive brand name cartridges and the no name generic cartridges?". The usual answer I give to people is the price is the main difference because it literally is. Sure the brand name cartridge is in a much prettier package and it looks so much better so therefore it must be a better, more reliable option.

The truth is that often these fancy looking OEM cartridges are actually made in the same factories as the cheaper generic, no name cartridges are made. Many years ago the quality of the no brand cartridges was extremely poor, they leaked, clogged the nozzles and even jammed in the printer. Fortunately this is no longer the case as the non genuine ink and toner cartridges are now extremely well made and provide a huge cost saving benefit for the consumer.

The only issue a non genuine cartridge has is that the ink formulation is not as UV resistant as that of a genuine OEM equivalent product. In saying this the only time that this will be an issue is when you are displaying a photo etc near a very sunny window that receives large amounts of UV exposure for long periods of time. Apart from that there is no difference whatsoever between the two types of cartridges.

Do I need to use Genuine Cartridges in my New Printer?

This is a question which has always baffled me. People think somehow that by using a generic ink in their new printer that it is suddenly going to die and they'll be left with a dead printer and a Null and Void Warranty. Let me make this VERY CLEAR, Generic inks WILL NOT destroy your printer as they are no different to the Genuine OEM ones and also they WILL NOT void your warranty. It is illegal for a printer manufacturer to claim that a third party consumable item can void a warranty unless they can actually prove that the product indeed did cause the demise of the printer.

In my fifteen years of being in this industry I have never had this happen and never expect to. Printers as with any other electronic devices are not infallible and are always susceptible to failing due to a whole number of reasons. A good quality, non genuine printer ink should in no way ever increase the risk of a printers failure or demise.
